All Truth about Beam Confidential NFTs

You may have all heard about NFTs by now. A non-fungible token (NFT) denominates a unique asset that is freely transferable and authenticated on the blockchain.

Examples include files such as digital art and music. Any user can view the entire transaction history of an NFT, the wallet it currently belongs to, as well as monitor future transactions using the blockchain explorer.

Instead of relying on traditional NFTs, Beam Blockchain uses confidential NFTs, meaning all transaction metadata, such as sender/receiver wallet addresses, transaction time & contents are private-by-default. Private owners and collectors can use the Beam ecosystem to store secret NFTs and in the future bridge assets to various blockchains.

Confidential NFTs are stored directly on the blockchain meaning they can never be deleted or be tampered with, always ensuring the original authors’ work remains exactly the way it was created. In the future, Beam will start storing NFTs on an IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) to make transactions more efficient and smoother infrastructure.
